Overview:

Provide nutrition counseling as part of the health care team, establish treatment plans and communicate with patients regarding program compliance, collaborate with bariatric care team on standard practices. Applicants must have excellent customer service skills. Weight loss experience is preferred but not necessary. On the job training available for bariatric specific information. We are looking for a candidate who is looking to grow, wants to expand their skill set, and who wants to make a meaningful change in obesity-related care.

Responsibilities:

Perform complete nutritional assessments that include but are not limited to: Pertinent history and physical, diet history, anthropometrics, indications for bariatric surgery, patient readiness and barriers to success, and implications of bariatric surgical procedures.

Provide nutrition and lifestyle related education, counseling, and support on an individual and group level. Document and place orders in the EMR for nutrition related laboratory data for all patients assigned to the dietitian.

Participate in information sessions and classes that describe surgical procedures, identify risks and benefits of procedures, nutritional implications of surgical procedures, and define realistic expectations post operatively.

Provide nutritional recommendations utilizing the latest ASMBS guidelines.

Other community outreach events as needed such as health fairs, health screening, and hospital-sponsored events.

Education:

Essential:
Bachelor's Degree in related field

Other Information:

Experience in acute care, outpatient counseling, and/or community nutrition preferred.

Licensed as a Registered Dietitian in the state of Delaware strongly preferred.

Valid Registration (RD credential)

Expert: USD $94,827.20/Yr.
