Our client seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounts Payable (AP) Manager to join their finance team. The successful candidate will oversee the accounts payable function, manage a team of 4 AP professionals in a high-volume environment, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities of Senior AP Manager:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4 AP professionals.
  • Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Manage the AP ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete.
  • Resolve complex AP issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Streamline AP processes, reducing cycle times and increasing productivity.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present AP reports to senior management.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of AP processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient AP operations.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, resolving any issues or disputes promptly.
  • Work closely with the finance team to support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Preferred Experience of Senior AP Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in a high-volume, process improvement-focused environment, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Experience with Concur/Great Plains is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This role is full-time onsite to start in Norwalk, offering a compensation of $120,000 - $135,000 depending on experience.
