Job description

The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for the day-to-day accounting for the Company's revenues, as well as the period-end account reconciliation process and analyses/reporting that support the quarter/year-end financial statements.

Day-to-day Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:

  • Primarily responsible for accounting for the full life cycle of the aircraft leases, including rental revenues, aircraft maintenance revenues and reserves, deferred/advance lease rental revenues, lease rental and maintenance receivables, security deposits, and net investments in leases
  • Prepare lease classification tests in accordance with ASC 842 at lease commencement, straight-line rental revenue calculations, and lease premium and/or discount calculations associated with aircraft acquisitions
  • Assist with lease accounting analyses and adjustments for lease extensions, amendments, transitions, sales etc., as well as with lease close-out upon lease terminations or expirations
  • Prepare month-end close accounting journal entries (recurring and non-recurring)
  • Prepare period-end General Ledger account reconciliations
  • Prepare and maintain the Revenue master file and related analytics
  • Support month-end internal reporting for management and quarter/year-end external reporting through creation of analyses and schedules related to the leases and aircraft
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses as directed by management
  • Timely support of internal and external audit inquiries with accurate schedules
What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's is a plus
  • CPA is a plus
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Lease accounting experience would be ideal
  • Experience with general ledger/reporting systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
