Job description

We are seeking a K-12 Sales Representative to join our client in Oxford, CT. This position is responsible for driving sales of our Audio-Visual solutions within K-12 schools. You will play a key role in helping schools implement innovative AV solutions to enhance their learning environments.

Client Details

Our client is a 50-person family owned and operated company based in Oxford CT. They are a supplier and integrator of audio-visual solutions for the corporate, municipal, K-12, and higher education verticals. Recently the company appointed a new President and sales leader whose looking to hire business development reps in the New England/CT areas to develop the corporate and K12 markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for promoting and selling AV solutions (e.g., interactive displays, projectors, audio systems, video conferencing equipment) within K-12 school districts in the Oxford, CT region and surrounding areas.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities within school districts, administrators, and education technology decision-makers.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, nurturing relationships to drive long-term partnerships with schools and districts.
  • Engage with K-12 educational administrators, IT directors, and decision-makers to assess their AV needs and propose tailored solutions that meet the specific requirements of the educational environment.
  • Provide expert consultation on how AV solutions can enhance teaching and learning experiences, making a clear business case for the benefits of integrating AV technology into the curriculum.
  • Lead product demonstrations, presentations, and technology showcases to highlight the value and functionality of AV solutions.
  • Work with internal technical teams to arrange live product demos and ensure the solutions are customized to the unique needs of each school or district.
  • Work closely with the sales support, technical, and project management teams to ensure smooth order processing and product delivery.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop tailored sales materials, presentations, and promotional campaigns specific to the K-12 market.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders within school districts, including purchasing departments, administrators, and end-users.
  • Provide ongoing post-sales support to ensure successful implementation and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about market trends, including emerging technologies in AV solutions and K-12 education.
  • Collect and report customer feedback to help refine product offerings and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Manage a local territory with a focus on schools in the Oxford, CT area and surrounding regions.
  • Travel within the territory (50% or less) to meet with clients, conduct site visits, and provide product demonstrations.

Profile



Key Requirements:

  • 3+ years of teaching or curriculum development experience in a K-12 environment.
  • Deep understanding of K-12 education environments and how AV technology can enhance teaching and learning.
  • Strong knowledge of AV solutions, including hardware, software, and integrations in a classroom setting.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence educational decision-makers.
  • Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline, negotiate contracts, and close deals in a B2B environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with AV hardware and technology solutions commonly used in schools (e.g., interactive whiteboards, projectors, video conferencing).
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to track sales activities and manage relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule in a local, territory-based role.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the local area (up to 50%).
