Klingberg is a private non-profit multi service agency who provides help to thousands of people across Connecticut each year. Our goal is to extend hope and healing to children and families whose lives have been traumatized by abuse and/or neglect in its various forms, sever family problems and mental health issues.

We are looking for a Therapist in our Extended Day Treatment Program to plan, implement, and monitor the treatment for assigned children and their families within models of treatment consistent with Klingberg Family Centers Extended Day Program Treatment Philosophy.

Some responsibilities are listed below:

Conducts clinical preplacement interview to determine appropriateness for the program.
Completes psychosocial assessment and initial treatment plan including diagnosis within timeframes described in agency policy/procedure.
Formulates Master Treatment Plan in conjunction with treatment team within timeframes described in agency policy/procedure.
Provides individual, group and family therapy to assigned cases as clinically indicated.
Schedules and leads weekly treatment team meetings.
Makes referrals to and collaborates with psychiatric, psychological, medical and legal professionals as needed.
Writes progress notes for units of service delivered daily to children in attendance.
Conducts Treatment Reviews, within timeframes described in agency policy/procedure, for each client including evaluating progress on existing objectives and revising Master Treatment Plans, as indicated.
Provides crisis intervention services to clients and crisis consultation to staff and education personnel as needed.
Works collaboratively with DCF and other legal/social service agencies involved with the client and family.

Education/Experience/Other Requirements:

Master's Degree in related area, appropriate current certification/licenses, and 2-4 years supervised experience in a therapeutic treatment setting preferred. Maintain certification in TCI and CPR/First Aid. Must have a valid driver's license. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
