Job description
My client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team in Connecticut. The Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet all required specifications and standards, from initial design through production. This position will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality control teams to maintain compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

Description
The key responsbilities of the Quality Engineer are:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure product consistency and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality standards for new products and processes, including design reviews and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process or product deficiencies.
- Conduct audits and inspections of products and processes to ensure compliance with ISO, AS9100, and other relevant industry standards.
- Monitor and analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement in quality and efficiency.
- Assist in the development of control plans, inspection plans, and quality documentation in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Lead problem-solving initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to improve quality, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure quality requirements are understood and met, including conducting supplier audits as needed.
- Train and mentor production and quality control staff on quality assurance processes, procedures, and tools.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality inspections, audits, and reports for internal and customer review.
- Support the implementation of new technologies, processes, and systems that enhance product quality and consistency.

Profile
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field; or equivalent experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer
- Strong understanding of quality systems and standards in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
- Proficiency in quality control tools and techniques, including root cause analysis, statistical process control (SPC), and design of experiments (DOE).
- Experience with measurement equipment and techniques, including calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other inspection tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify issues, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with customers and suppliers.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
