Job description

• Only qualified Chemist candidates located near the Darien, CT area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence

The role of the temporary Chemist - hair color is to assist hair color scientists in developing new hair color formulations. This will involve problem solving, lab batching, analysis, and testing. The Chemist should competently understand test methods required to deliver a quality product and conduct laboratory experiments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (BS)/Master (MS) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field plus 0-4 years of experience (or)

  • Prior experience in Hair Color/Care or Consumer Products formulation

  • Strong problem-solving skills and positive attitude

  • Strong communication and analytical skills. Quick learner

  • Strong data management (excel etc.)

    Chemist Responsibilities:

  • Prepare lab batches for hair color applications and conduct testing to verify release criteria

  • Conduct stability and efficacy testing including detailing experiments, analysis, and summary of results

  • Maintain documentation of lab results, conclusions, and next steps

  • Contact suppliers and in-house experts to source raw materials or data as needed
