About the opportunity:

To coordinate and provide education and training needs specific to clinical systems pertaining to Operating Room and Perioperative services. Responsible for needs assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of educational experiences for OR staff. Operates independently, acting as a consultant for clinical areas, directors and mangers as assigned. Working in tandem with PreOP/PACU Clinical Educator to align organizational educational needs.

What you will do:
  1. Collaborates with staff/clients to identify specific training and educational needs for the clinical staff and practitioners related to the care of patients, in the perioperative setting.
  2. Develops and implements competencies, tools, programs and curriculum designed to meet the educational and training needs of the perioperative clinical staff and practitioners and incorporates standards of practice, regulatory requirements and evidence-based practice for best practice.
  3. Implements orientation programs for new clinical employees.
  4. Designs orientation programs for new employees.
  5. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to develop educational materials and programs.
  6. Continuously monitors and reports effectiveness of programs and tools implemented, revising as needed based on organizational feedback and patient outcomes.
  7. Communicates clearly and consistently with peers, department leadership, clinical staff and patients.
  8. Serves as a role model for embracing organizational change and process improvement.
  9. Utilizes a variety of presentation and facilitation skills to deliver content specific to educational needs.
  10. Ability to set and meet objectives and to complete work with accuracy and within organization time frames.
  11. Participates in unit and organizational quality improvement processes.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

  • Five years nursing experience
  • Two years Operating Room nursing experience
License(s):
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required
Certification(s):
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room certification (CNOR) preferred
Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English. Education:
  • Minimum of Associates Nursing degree for positions hired after 7/1/2018.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
