Job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting surgical teams during procedures, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and that all necessary instruments and supplies are available. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Length: 5 weeks

Shift: x 4 shifts/week

Other details: Minor urology procedures, 1 OR.

Pay: $35 per hours

Responsibilities
Prepare the operating room by ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.
Collect and record patient data, including vital signs, throughout the surgical process.
Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
Perform suture techniques as directed by the surgeon.
Provide care for pediatric patients in an ambulatory surgery center or acute care setting.
Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care before, during, and after surgery.
Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with surgical practices and technologies.

Requirements
Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program is preferred.
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to surgical procedures.
Experience in an ambulatory surgery center or acute care setting is highly desirable.
Ability to perform data collection accurately and efficiently.
Proficiency in monitoring vital signs during surgical procedures.
Experience with pediatric patients is a plus, particularly in settings such as PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit).
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
