Job Description
Position Summary

Responsible for supporting the implementation of valued programming for residents and family members. Offers a creative approach to ensuring social, physical, spiritual, and cognitive engagement that empowers residents. Assists with monthly calendar, newsletter and program planning specific for those living with early to mid-stage Dementia.

Essential Duties

  • Provides direction and guidance for residents to allow to successfully participate in daily programming.
  • Assist residents with patterning to meeting times and gathering places; calling and supporting preparedness for the day i.e. attire and preparation for excursions and special events.
  • Encourages participation of members in all programming provided.
  • Is aware of resident's abilities and challenges and revises programs as needed.
  • Observes and communicates information to manager regarding resident's needs, desires, concerns and responses to engagement and programming.
  • Assists in planning and creating monthly calendar and quarterly newsletter.
  • Assists with cognitive testing.
  • Assists with family member support as needed.
  • Participates in training as directed by Manager.
  • Supports Managers duties when Manager is absent.
  • Drives bus for excursions.
  • Leads and models collaborative and supportive behaviors between and among all CLC business entities (i.e., Cappella Living Solutions and all Rhythms service lines.)
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications & Experience
  • A minimum of one-year experience working with individuals living with Dementia.
  • Associate degree or combination of education or certification specific to Dementia services preferred
  • The position requires a positive and energetic approach.
  • Must be flexible and able to revise interaction and approach as needed.
  • Colorado driver's license in good standing.
  • Must be independent and work well within a team environment.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
  • Must exhibit excellent oral and written skills.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
  • Sits, stands, bends, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently.
