Job description

OUR NORAD Operations Group (JNOG) Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided: Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space. Mitigation of orbital conflicts. Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities. Operations and maintenance of classified communications. Software development and integration. NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at: Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska Vandenberg Space Force Base, California Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world Description of Duties: The VoIP Network Engineer supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will: Apply technical knowledge to solve routine and complex problems for VSS (MSL-100)/VoIP. Participate in design/deploy enterprise solution architecture, and coordinate installations and migrations. Troubleshoot LAN and WAN hardware systems and respond to customer inquiries. Meet with IT managers to determine the contract/Government VoIP network needs. Analyze existing VoIP networks/computer systems. Develop architecture for voice/data (future) services. Install/incorporate network hardware including IP/PABX communication servers. Design/implement communications unified capabilities. Troubleshoot VoIP network issues. Analyze/upgrade network security systems and protocols. Add network users and manage contract/Government permissions/accesses. Optimize installations for future expansion. Train staff on network/system protocols. Install, remove, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, and repair non-secure voice and/or non-voice communications systems including intercom and public address systems, alarm systems, and electronic and electromechanical telephone key systems/PABXs; terminal and communications equipment, including line drivers. Run cables, key cables, or house wire to all telephone sets, terminal connectors, lugs, pins, or screws, associated with key telephone equipment and/or terminating equipment for non-voice circuits. Configure, optimize, fine-tune, and monitor system operating software/hardware. The successful candidate will: Be able to work with minimal supervision and make technical decisions in response to real-world situations without direct contact with a supervisor for guidance. This position reports to Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station and shift work could be required to support 247 operations. It is important to be available to work any shift/designated hours required including nights, weekends, and holidays on a modified Panama schedule. This position is considered Mission Essential. The selected candidate may be assigned as one of our teammate companies. Basic Requirements: Certification Requirements: Current DoD IAT Level II or higher (CompTIA Security ce). Clearance Requirements: Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility. Educational Requirements: H.S. Diploma or GED 1.5 years of directly related experience. 1 year of work history. Experience providing support to monitor, install, and perform maintenance on VSS/VoIP, hardware/software, networks, and equipment (i.e., servers, voice mail, etc.) applicable to VSS/VoIP. Experience in VSS/VoIP systems/IP Protocols (i.e., LAN and WAN systems). Experience in performing Cyber Security/Hardening tasks. Ability to work shifts in support of 24x7 operations when required. Desired Requirements: Experience with VSS/VoIP operations planning/management in a real-time support environment. Ability to prepare, objectively review, and deliver technical presentations. Experience with technical knowledge capture, training, and certification of personnel. Project Management experience. Experience interfacing with DoD/Governmental customers at very high levels. Ability to work independently and make decisions requiring personal judgment. This position is expected to pay $85,000 - $100,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position. This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. Essential Functions: Communication Will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Work Environment Work will be performed inside a large facility. Work environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Work assignments vary based on client requirements. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, icy, and windy climates. Physical Requirements Position will require extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone. Position will require climbing, working at heights, and in small, confined spaces such as under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks. Position will require sitting, stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching for long periods. Position will require work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions. Position will require lifting and/or transporting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and the location of work, traveling moderate to long distances may be required. Equipment and Machines General office equipment, which includes telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment. Servers, switches, routers, and other computer equipment that support the network environment. Operating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment. Attendance Regular attendance following the established work schedule is mandatory. It is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required. You may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work. You may be asked to continue performance in support of a war, contingency, or exercise. Travel Commuting between locations may be required daily ( 10-minute drive). May require operating motor vehicles for commuting between locations. Other Essential Functions Candidate must exhibit professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Grooming and dress are usually business casual but dependent on the client's standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
