$5,000 Sign-On Bonus Our NORAD Operations Group Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided: • Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space. • Mitigation of orbital conflicts. • Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities. • Operations and maintenance of classified communications. • Software development and integration. NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at: • Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado • Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado • Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska • Vandenberg Space Force Base, California • Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world Description of Duties: The VMware Aria Operations/Logs Engineersupports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will: The VMware Aria Operations/Logs Engineer independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Makes minor adaptations and modifications. Independently performs project assignments that involve few complex features and can be guided by codes, standards, and other precedents of the discipline. Analyzes and/or evaluates the results of an analysis using techniques prescribed by senior engineers or supervisors. Accomplishes and completes tasks of limited scope or solves problems that require investigation of a limited number of variables. • Engineering support for a multi-instance Aria Operations (vROPs) and Aria Operations for Logs (vRLI) system. • Maintains stable Aria Operations monitoring system through performing day to day operations and maintenance, working trouble tickets, and working problems or bugs to resolution. • Instruments Aria monitoring and reporting on VMware infrastructure. • Works trouble tickets with vendor. • Layout and execute a roadmap for continued improvement of an Aria Operations and Logs system with minimal guidance. • Recommend, document configuration and optimization of Aria Operations for high availability and performance. • Document, train, and implement initial dashboarding, alerts, and metric tuning to meet customer requirements. • Conduct training sessions and workshops for the customer's IT teams at various locations to ensure knowledge transfer and effective use of the solution. • Monitoring and Optimization: Ø Create and configure dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide visibility into system performance and health. Ø Perform metric tuning and adjustments to ensure accurate monitoring and reporting. Ø Conduct regular performance assessments and implement improvements as needed. Ø Recommend and execute strategies to ensure smooth adoption and integration of VMware Aria Operations. Ø Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for VMware Aria Operations and Logs. • Participate in regular status meetings and provide progress updates to stakeholders. • Ability to translate a large vision statement into several smaller tasks and create a plan of execution which accomplishes the overall vision. • Ability to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on any Aria Suite product with minimal formal training. • Tracks and prioritizes own work independently. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding operational environment with little oversight. • Possesses the fortitude to achieve success despite obstacles that would make others fail. • Position may require at times, night and/or weekend work to maintain a secure and resilient system The successful candidate will: This position will be filled and work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO Resumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position. Basic Requirements: • Clearance: Secret • 6 or more directly related IT experience • 7 years general work experience • vSphere Certification: VMware Certified Technical Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCTA) or 2 years of experience with VMware vSphere • IAT Level II Certification (CCNA-Security, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, CND, SSCP) • Experience in Aria Operations for Logs and Aria Operations • 5 years working in a VCF or VMware vSphere environment. Desired Requirements: • vSphere Certification: VCP-DCV • VMware Cloud Foundation Specialist • VMware Certified Professional - Cloud Operations: VCP-OP 2024 or earlier • Comp TIA A Certification • Experience with DoD STIGs (as related to VMware products and NetApp Hardware) • Experience with ACAS Scan • Experience with LINUX Administration • Experience with Windows Administration • Experience with Storage VSAN and NFS • Fault and Performance Monitoring tools experience • Familiarity with Agile or other IT service management frameworks This position is expected to pay $140,000 - $155,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position. This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. Travel • Commuting between locations may be required daily ( 30-minute drive). • May require operating motor vehicles for commuting between locations.
