Position Overview This system administrator position supports the GPS Control Segment Sustainment program in Colorado Springs. The candidate will be supporting multiple development and test labs and responding to requests from users, teammates, and leadership. Primary Responsibilities The candidate will perform duties to include Backup/Restore/Disaster Recovery, Hardware/System Monitoring, and System/Software/User Maintenance. The candidate will be required to maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties will include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, applying monthly operating system/COTS updates/patches, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. The candidate will also be required to provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices for the program. Minimum Qualifications Proficient with a Windows operating system (RHEL 8+ preferred)
Scripting experience
Candidate must have or be able to obtain and maintain Security + certification
Candidate must be willing to work weekends
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Candidate must have the ability to work in a team-oriented setting or independently as required to achieve goals and objectives in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environmentPreferred Qualifications Familiar with Solaris Security Toolkit
Solaris Zones System Administration experience
NetBackup and backup solutions experience
Working knowledge of LDAP and Role-Based Access Control
Familiar with VMware, vSphere, and vCenter products
Experience with patching Unix Operating Systems
Network Attached Storage (NAS) management experience
Working understanding of Microsoft Windows Active Directory is a plus
