Apogee is actively seeking a Security Specialist to be located in Colorado Springs, CO. This position provides direct contract support for all security functions including personnel, physical, and information, and will be responsible for providing direct support to the FSO, VPs, Program Managers, and other departments. What you will be doing: Provide support to the Facility Security Officer Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of security policies and procedures, including the insider threat program Provide support to the Personnel Security Program including maintaining DISS, SIMS, SWFT, initiating clearance requests via NBIS, VARs, and SCI nominations Act as an advocate for the security program, using sound communication expertise and working with senior-level managers to accomplish missions Perform basic visitor control functions to include visitor log maintenance, badge issuance, and visitor requests as well as entry/exit inspections Provide support to classified meetings, including clearing rooms, obtaining GCA approval, validating VARs and access, providing security briefings, and monitoring adjacent spaces during meetings Assist FSO in conducting annual self-inspection as required by the NISP and coordinate DCSA Security Vulnerability Assessment Assist with basic IT support and troubleshooting such as password resets, printer configurations, break/fix instructions, ticket routing, and escalation to Level 2 and Level 3 support Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret clearance Education: High School Diploma Years of experience: 2+ years of experience working in personnel security Preferred Experience 2+ Experience with DISS, NISS, SIMS, NBIS, SWFT, and ACCS preferred Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook TS/SCI preferred Up to 5% Travel Benefits Apogee offers two medical plans, a high deductible health plan with an HRA and a traditional POS plan with co-pays, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, PTO, paid holidays, parental, military, and jury duty paid leaves. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. The base pay for this position is $21.64 - $24.04 across the U.S. There is also a different range applicable for specific work locations. Base pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, training, and education.
