Job description

We are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The successful candidate will have experience working in integrated teams and applying system engineering principles to develop comprehensive solutions. You will be responsible for performing use case development, preparing systems engineering artifacts, and working closely with various product owners and teams to implement customer-requested capabilities. Key Responsibilities:
Perform use case development and prepare systems engineering artifacts, including Epics and Features, under the direction of the Engineering Support Agile Release Train (ART).
Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, architectural documentation, and system engineering estimates.
Create Verification Cross Reference Matrices (VCRMs) and author formal and informal engineering reviews.
Actively participate in Agile development processes, including iteration planning, status reporting, and agile team leadership.
Provide use case development support to junior engineers to enhance their skills.
Collaborate with team members, management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are delivered on time and within budget.
Adhere to DOORS processes and procedures, ensuring compliance in all documentation.
Serve as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts as required. Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience/combined education).
Proven track record of applying systems engineering principles to develop product solutions.
Experience developing systems engineering artifacts such as specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, and more.
Relevant experience working in an integrated team environment with systems, software, and specialty engineers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical approaches and findings.
Experience writing and implementing engineering plans within a project.
Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS clearance. Desired Qualifications:
Experience in Agile development environments.
Domain experience with Space and Missile Defense.
Experience with systems analysis, metric development, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and architecture development.
Experience contributing to the implementation of system development lifecycle processes and creating integrated sets of requirements that result in fielded products.
