Job description

Logistics/IT Procurement Specialist Aleut Federal is seeking an Logistics/IT Procurement Specialist (ITPS) who will aid the IT supply chain needs of the USSPACECOM mission. Member will ensure transactional procurement functions are performed to reduce costs, ensure supply continuity, mitigate risk, increase efficiency, while meeting operations specifications and providing the best overall value to the mission. The Logistical/ITPS reviews budget requirement in support of USSPACECOM/J6. The member will also serve as the primary vessel to receive vendor quotes, Request for Information (RFI) and conduct purchases utilizing Costpoint as well as an Aleut provided purchase credit card (P-Card). Additionally, the member will develop relationships with vendors and suppliers, and makes recommendations. This position requires an understanding of business operations and process improvement. Additionally, the Procurement Specialist must have strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills, as they work with a diverse number of people. They are responsible for research, cost analysis, inventory control, negotiating, dispositioning, and projecting future needs for the program. Essential Duties: Maintain excellent communication with all business stakeholders, to include the Government Client, Internal Corporate Partners and Current/Potential Business Partners.
Document and maintain required contractual/purchase order records and correspondence.
Collaborate with Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), 21st Comm Squadron, Information Assurance (IA), System Security Officers (SSOs), and the Base Equipment Custodian Officer (BECO) to ensure that prior to Government authorization of purchase, all equipment is Trade Agreements Act (TAA) compliant and is in compliance with Government network(s).
Assist in asset management procedures as required
Discover General Services Administration (GSA) approved vendors and initiate business and organization partnerships
Identifies and conducts research on suppliers to ensure that the organization's standards of quality, timing, and reliability of supply are met
Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
Finalize purchase details of orders and assist ITEC with the receipt of equipment deliveries
Track and report key functional metrics
Complete Purchase Authorization Requests (PARs)
Maintain accurate records of purchases, items received and track deliveries
Perform quarterly software and licensing audits
Assist the IT Equipment Custodians (ITEC) with equipment inventories as an additional and serve as an alternate ITEC
Learn the Costpoint procurement process and how to order on the Costpoint system
Work closely with Aleut Procurement System and Supply Management Specialist
Maintain register/balance of all Other Direct Costs (ODCs) and Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs)
Purchase equipment using Company Purchasing Card Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies and effective tactics for negotiating costs
Ability to perform statistical analysis and price/cost analysis
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and vendors
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use databases and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, SharePoint
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Knowledge of Governmental procurement practices and procedures
Strong math, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership capabilities
Aptitude in decision-making and working with financial records
Must possess a high level of organizational skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 25-30 pounds Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License
TS/SCI Government Security Clearance AND must pass conditional post offer background investigation, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen. Experience: 2-5 years of previous experience in IT procurement
Experience in collecting and analyzing data
Experience in managing large scale budgets
Experience in Costpoint and the ServiceNow logistic platform
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration preferred but not required Location Colorado Springs, CO
