JOB SUMMARY The Linux Administrator II supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). Zivaro's NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC) Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract (NISSC) II Team provides engineering expertise and IT services in support of various NORAD, NORTHCOM, USSTRATCOM, and US Space Force Command and Control (C2) missions. The NISSC II-covered systems provide timely, accurate, unambiguous, and continuous classified communications and processing capability in operations centers at Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station, Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado; Offutt AFB, Nebraska; Vandenberg, California; and other worldwide operational locations. In concert with the prime NISSC II contractor, Jacobs Technologies, Zivaro's employees performs enterprise architecture, system engineering, software development, system integration, and system test duties to fulfill NISSC II operations, maintenance, and sustainment requirements. Experience supporting capability development, delivery, and sustainment of Command and Control (C2) systems within an Agile environment supporting the missile warning, missile defense, and space domain awareness (SDA) domains is highly desired. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS Provide highly skilled Systems Administration/Integration to support complex Linux environments.
Administer/update/troubleshoot air warning, missile warning & space defense systems development/test environments.
Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
Linux Engineer I responsible for the internal administration, maintenance, and management of capacity resources the integrated NISSC development environment at the Government Test Development Facility. Set up and manage Linux and Windows systems, applications and environments and ensuring those systems comply with government security standards.
Builds, configures, troubleshoots, and integrates new and existing servers to provide service enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades. Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Troubleshooting network hardware and software applications, OS upgrades, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
Responsible for monitoring performance, system usage, and back-up and recovery Familiarity with storage appliances and configurations.
Experience with VMware and the ability to analyze and optimize.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), agile system development, and DevSecOps tools and processes. Experience implementing patches, scanning, remediating findings, auditing. Supports operating system patching in compliance with security policy and procedures. Support software deployments to customer sites. Ensures lab configuration management.
Manage tickets and resolution of issues identified by lab users. REQUIREMENTS: Basic: Clearance: Secret
Certification: IAT Level II Certification (Sec+) and Linux RedHat Certified System Administrator (preferred) 5 years of Linux experience Experience in Systems Administration of complex applications on Unix/Linux platforms.
Expert with Linux/Unix system administration including installing and configuring systems from the OS level up.
Experience with Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system, experience with applying group policies from Active Directory environment impacting Linux OS.
Ability to write scripts in Perl, bash shell and Expect languages or equivalent (developing, debugging, and maintaining)
Experience with configuring, analyze, and troubleshoot clustered and virtual Oracle (Sun) and Linux-based servers. Desired: TS/SCI Clearance
Technical aptitude and ability to administer Network services including Active Directory, LDAP, Radius, NPS.
Understanding of network services including DNS, DHCP, NPS and relation to Linux Operating Systems.
Authentication services including LDAP, Active Directory, Radius, NPS.
Server support including Linux and VMWare.
Ability to troubleshoot and accurately identify root cause of infrastructure issues.
Creation of custom scripts/programming for customer and administrative needs.
Familiarity with network administration, switches, configuring for host security, availability, and throughput.
Linux IPA including LDAP, DNS, Kerberos, addressing any directory services requirements.
Filesystem management on large fiber-channel RAID storage arrays, Linux kernel config and tuning.
Customization of Linux servers for use with large RAID disk arrays.
Skills/understanding of Microsoft server and OS products that connect and support Linux based systems.
Experience with VMWare installation and configuration and Systems Administration of ESXi hosts, deploying and configuring VMware vCenter, configuring virtual storage using ISCSI and NFS storage.
