We've got what you're looking for. Job Description: Do you want to be at the forefront of delivering Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) across the DoD? Parsons is currently seeking a talented and experienced Configuration Management/ Systems Engineer to join our team to provide direct support to the Space Force in Colorado Springs, CO. As a crucial member of our dynamic team, you will play a vital role in gathering, analyzing, and managing all configuration management aspects for the program to ensure the successful design, implementation, and maintenance of OPIR systems that provide essential intelligence and surveillance capabilities. What You'll Be Doing: Planning: Prepare a Configuration Management Plan (CMP) or Plans IAW Mil-HDBK-61B that align with OPIR project goals and operational requirements.
Identification; Establish a set of protocols and methodologies that provide a means to formally identify an indentured OPIR architecture of Configuration Items (CI) and Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCI) CM Baseline, Interface and MOSA Management: Establish and then Charter an OIPR Configuration Control Board (CCB) that implements a formalized change control process with which to: release and control all OIPR CM baselines (FBL, ABL and PBL), and disposition all ECPs and Variances against those baselines. Configuration Status Accounting (CSA): Establish an OIPR CSA system that records a history of all CM actions within the OIPR program and from which BOMs or as built records can be extracted
Configuration Audits: Establish a method of planning, conducting, and archiving both Functional (FCA) and Physical (PCA) audits of OIPR requirements and technical data respectively.
Technical Data Packages: Prepare OIPR Technical Data Packages IAW MIL-STD-31000
Military Specifications Development: Prepare military specifications IAW MIL-STD-961
Statement of Work Development: Prepare Statements of Work IAW MIL-HDBK-254 that include CM task requirements for OIPR contractors and suppliers as well as a compliment of formal CM data deliverables in support of the OIPR program
Rights in Data: Establish a process by which to assess, assign or challenge rights in data markings of OIPR technical data and computer software as described in the DFARS clauses , 7014, 7015, 7017 and 7027
Systems Engineering: Participate and contribute to the planning and conduct of the SE technical reviews. Establish a means to manage the configurations of models that may be used within the OIPR MBSE environment.
Training: Provide training and support to team members on configuration management processes and tools. What Required Skills You'll Bring: An Active TS clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred
5+ years of experience in configuration management roles
Proficiency in using configuration management software and tools
Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools for modeling complex systems throughout the systems engineering lifecycle
Experience using agile framework development methods and processes
Broad systems engineering experience including early concept development, requirements analysis, design, test and evaluation, and risk assessment
Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong critical thinking skills
Ability to interact effectively with and lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams, including industry and government sponsors What Desired Skills You'll Bring: Experience working within Space Systems Command
