Job description

Duties The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado is searching for a Chief of SZQ Operations Division (NH-0301-03). Description: The Operations Division Chief leads a 12-member team comprised of military officers, government civilians and A&AS Contractors. Manages the SZQ Division Action Group, A&AS contract, Unique IT SZQ Division requirements and equipment, and multiple separate projects supporting Missile Warning, Missile Defense and Space Domain Awareness missions. Will plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff in critical aspects of development and production, support of systems, subsystems, or equipment and to coordinate various aspects of systems acquisition such as engineering, contracting, financial management, configuration, test, and manufacturing. Must be able to effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors. Optional Compressed Work Schedule or Alternative work schedule.The ideal candidate must possess skills to years of experience as a project (any discipline, such as facilities, IT, personnel, security, etc.) or program manager. Bachelorette Degree from an accredited college/university. Must have Supervisory experience. Establishes and manages the SZQ strategic and tactical programmatic road-maps for infrastructure requirements (to include operational/development facilities, personnel needs, IT requirements (not NIPR/SIPR), A&AS requirements and source selections. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods to accomplish long-range strategic planning for human resources and to provide definitive input on proposed legislative and regulatory changes. 2. Knowledge of organizations, programs, missions, and functions to analyze and determine human resources plans, programs, and initiatives to support customers' current and future requirements. 3. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 4. Mastery of advanced management and organizational principles and practices along with a comprehensive knowledge of human resources functions, e.g., civilian personnel, military personnel, manpower, etc., to develop and implement integrated approaches and solutions to significant human resources concerns and issues. 5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship Required This position is eligible for telework, 2-4 days per pay period. Employee must reside within commuting distance of worksite. PCS and Incentives are authorized. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance. Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for the position. This position has been designated for drug testing. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing as a condition of employment. This is a supervisory position. Financial Disclosure Statement: Yes, Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, "Confidential Financial Disclosure Report. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 20 days per year.
