Job description
SmallSAT Software Developer (SkillBridge) Location: Aurora, CO Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Active Top Secret/SCI NASK offers transitioning military personnel a SkillBridge Internship Program for SmallSAT Software Developer internship. MUST be transitioning US Military personnel with your COMMAND'S approval for this program. More about your role: NASK's SmallSAT operations scope includes engineering support and operations of one-of-a-kind research and development satellites, mission planning, on-orbit operations, and anomaly resolution. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with research and development spacecraft and want to be part of a company providing products and services to the Intelligence Community and DoD that span the engineering, testing, operation, and sustainment of critical capabilities and programs. The satellite operator will be responsible for transmitting, receiving, and logging satellite communications as well as daily IC customer feedback and program-wide coordination. As a Small Sat software developer, you will be responsible for developing new capabilities for an existing mission management software suite, providing O&M debug support, and assisting in software integration and test. Required Qualifications: MUST be transitioning US Military personnel with your COMMAND'S approval for this program. Ability to quickly learn new software and technical subjects Experience with Java, Linux OS, and Git Work well in both a team environment and executing individual tasks Preferred Qualifications: Solid experience with JSON and REST web services Knowledge of bash scripting, maven build system, Mongo DB, Jira, and Confluence General knowledge of spacecraft subsystems, orbital dynamics, and ground systems Working knowledge of Telemetry, Tracking, and Commanding (TT&C), and Ground Control (GC) applications Experience maintaining situational awareness for satellite system activities in an operational environment Customer presentation experience Capability to identify system issues and provide technical advice B.S. or higher in Computer Engineering or Computer Science, plus 4+ years of related work experience (2 years direct work experience may be substituted for degree Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI w/poly Who we are: Our people are the core of who we are and what we do.
