OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Company:

Nurture Collective, a practice that intersects the complexities of maternal-infant mental health and early childhood intervention. We provide various services, including occupational, physical, and speech therapies, lactation support, feeding therapy, parent-and-baby groups, and more. This BIPOC-owned, female-led company centers social-emotional development in addressing developmental delays. We also focus on mitigating the development delays by facilitating parent-child relationships and addressing the factors that influence these delays, such as parental mental health and well-being. We believe in building supportive communities to support parents of young children, providing access to families that may not receive therapy services otherwise. We support families in Los Angeles County and the surrounding areas and accept various commercial insurance, Medi-Cal, and Regional Center funding.

About the Job:

Collective (NC) is pleased to announce a unique opportunity. NC is seeking a new Occupational Therapist to ensure that families have the tools, support, education, and training they need so their young children (0-5) can reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and reflective provider who understands child development, infant mental health, maternal mental health, and a passion for working on behalf of the healthy development of young children and their caregivers. We seek an organized and efficient OTR to work on Saturdays.

Job Duties Include:

Adheres to and demonstrates Nurture Collective's core values and mission in the performance of all aspects of this position

Follow through on assigned referrals by providing intake, assessment/evaluation and recommendations, and occupational therapy treatment to families on developmental skills in the areas of gross motor, fine motor, social/emotional, cognition, speech/language, self-help and adaptive

Maintain assigned caseload incorporating researched based intervention activities into daily routines that best facilitate child/family-driven goals

Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and timely

All other duties as assigned

Job type: Per Diem (W-2)

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum of Masters degree in Occupational Therapy

Licensure or the ability to receive California licensure required

Ability to pass the pre-hire background check required

Experience working with Part C/Early Intervention services is preferred

Bilingual therapist (Spanish) speaking is preferred

Physical and Other Demands:

Must be able to establish and maintain working relationships within the agency and with clients

Must be able to work in a consultative model/transdisciplinary model of intervention and a family-centered service delivery model

Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of testing equipment, toys, and supplies

Must be able to sit on the floor and move quickly after infants and toddlers

Salary: dependent upon experience

Experience: Minimum of one year of experience working with young children and families (preferred)

Work location: outpatient clinic in Whittier, CA

Pay: $45.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 8 per week

Schedule:
8 hour shift
Weekends only
