Job description

Job Description: The Healthcare Technology Management Supervisor at John Muir Health oversees the daily operations of the HTM Department, ensuring the safety, functionality, and reliability of all medical equipment. This role involves supervising a team of biomedical engineers and technicians, managing equipment maintenance schedules, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. The supervisor will collaborate closely with clinical staff to address equipment issues, support new technology implementations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the hospital. Additionally, depending on the team's workload, the supervisor is expected to perform light preventive maintenance/technical tasks as well as being part of on-call rotation. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Education:

  • Associate degree or higher in a related field - required.

Experience:

  • 5 years of hospital experience - required.

  • 3 years of management experience - preferred.

Certifications/Licensures:

  • AAMI-CBET - Association for Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician) - Required or obtained within 12 months of employment.

Skills:

  • Technical Expertise: Biomedical engineering principles, medical equipment maintenance, and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO).

  • Leadership and Management: Supervising teams, organizational skills, and time management.

  • Communication: Clear verbal and written skills, explaining technical information to non-technical staff.

  • Problem-Solving: Diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, quick decision-making.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Knowledge of maintenance procedures and performing light tasks as needed.

  • Project Management: Managing projects within deadlines and budgets, with attention to detail.

  • Technical Documentation: Maintaining accurate records and preparing detailed reports.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Understanding healthcare regulations and ensuring compliance.

  • Customer Service: Providing excellent service to clinical staff, resolving concerns promptly.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility with changing priorities, staying updated on advancements.

Work Shift: 10.0 - 07:00 - 18:00 No Waive (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$73.09 - $98.66 Hourly

Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
