Job description

Duties You will maintain an information system to record daily passenger, cargo weight, and mileage to track usage of vehicles. You will use a dispatching software program to verify data is entered as required by the command. You will maintain a trip record (e.g., dispatch log) of assignments to track daily operations and travel expenses (e.g., vehicle mileage, number of hours vehicle was operated, fuel consumption). You will receive vehicle or equipment requests (e.g., C-pool vehicles) to determine correct vehicles or equipment is dispatched. You will determine type of vehicle or equipment (e.g., heavy motor vehicle, special purpose vehicle) needed to be dispatched to fulfill the requested job. You will transfer vehicles or equipment for preventative maintenance service or repairs. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. This is a bargaining unit position. This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Manages the day to day assignment and control of the inventory and/or acts as the central point of contact for customer vehicle inquiries; 2) Receives and/or evaluates a variety of both recurring and non-recurring requests from commands; 3) Evaluates and prioritizes requests and selects appropriate vehicles or equipment based on customer requirements; 4) Reviews schedules and/or inventory, availability of funds, maintenance/readiness of vehicle/equipment inspection reports and customer qualifications prior to issuing or dispatching vehicles; 5) Inputs, verifies, and/or maintains all information including odometer readings and other required information into software programs/databases; 6) Reports suspected, misuse and/or abuse of vehicles; 7) Assigns operators with vehicles as requested.
