The Agricultural Best Practices Instructor (Community Education Specialist 4) will focus primarily on developing, conducting, managing, and evaluating an education program to increase the impact of extension programs in Ventura County. The CES 4 will foster and maintain an informal network of partners and will implement special projects that advance the program's objectives, while coordinating statewide educational activities with ANR collaborators based in different counties. The trainings will be designed to improve water, fertilizer and pesticide use efficiency, to support growers in addressing environmental regulation requirements, and to promote farm worker safety and environmental sustainability. Each training module will provide attendees with a certificate of completion, in an effort to facilitate regulatory requirements by state agencies, such as the State Water Resources Control Board and Department of Pesticide Regulation.
