Job description

At client's lab, our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Program Manager to join our team, who will be supporting Core Operating System and Manufacturing initiatives for multiple Wearable products.

We are specifically seeking a highly skilled and experienced candidate to lead the technical program management of software for manufacturing test to ensure that factory test stations are enabled to validate and bring-up new products. The ideal candidate will have experience in both software engineering and technical program management, with a strong background in consumer device product development. The right candidate will possess a strong technical program management, consumer product development experience background, and will have demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives across multiple product, software and hardware teams. The candidate must exhibit exemplary written and verbal communication skills and needs to be able to and drive large bodies of work independently through collaboration with other stakeholders such as System/Product architects, Software Technical Leads, Software and Hardware Managers and Validation domain experts.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred

  • PMP or PMI Certification

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience

  • Experience in software or firmware development for consumer electronics

  • Demonstrated experience leading execution across highly ambiguous, complex products and programs

  • Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership

  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems

  • Proven communicator who can translate high-level goals into tangible action plans

  • Experience delivering technical programs or products from inception to delivery

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) - ability to produce concise communications that drive clear actions

  • Ability to work autonomously - with confidence and able to set their own direction. Help the org achieve the set goals

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience aligning requirements, planning and executing consumer electronics manufacturing readiness for factory builds through all phases of a product development process

  • Experience with software in a manufacturing environment

    Technical Program Manager Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage cross-functional programs, facilitating relationships across multiple teams

  • Be the bridge between engineering and manufacturing teams, enabling crisp communication and status reporting

  • Support and coordinate HW/FW/SW bring-up activities

  • Drive visibility, accountability, and execution across areas of Software & Firmware development

  • Understand technology requirements, roadmap, dependencies, evolution, and develop a plan for mitigating risks

  • Establish expertise in the technology area, becoming the go-to escalation point for execution

  • Resolve conflicts, maintain clarity on priorities, and drive progress on execution

  • Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases

  • Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and development processes

  • Manufacturing- stations to run tests on the device (MTE) manufacturing testing

  • Produce the commands and tests needed

  • Schedule and plan for delivering software to the Factory- preparing it for manufacturing (wearable product)
