Job description
Overview: This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.
First Citizens leverages its deep industry knowledge and expertise to offer comprehensive financing solutions for renewable and conventional power generation. The unit manages a large, diverse portfolio that includes investments in all asset classes across the energy sector. In H1 2023, it was ranked in US Power and Energy Project Finance by Power Finance & Risk, a top publication covering the energy project finance industry.
Responsibilities: Analyze detailed financial models prepared by clients to evaluate lending opportunities
Prepare debt sizing models and sensitivities
Conduct due diligence and prepare Q&A logs for potential lending opportunities
Review consultant reports from independent engineers, insurance consultants, appraisal, and power market consultants
Prepare internal credit memos
Prepare marketing materials for potential clients and lenders
Stay up to date with industry trends and power markets
Train junior team members on modeling and other job responsibilities
Qualifications: Sr Analyst
Required Experience
A Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis or a High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve month analysis.
Preferred Experience
Bachelor's degree preferably in a quantitative field
1 year of experience in project finance at a bank, renewable energy company, consulting firm, or renewables focused private equity or private credit fund
Formal credit training
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong financial modeling skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of tax equity and debt structures used in the renewable space
Strong attention to detail and very organized
Strong time management skills
Self-starter and naturally inquisitive
Takes pride in work product

The base pay for the Sr Analyst position is generally between $95,000 and $110,000. The base pay for the Associate position is generally between $110,000 and $135,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
