Lead Mammography Technologist opportunity available for a knowledgeable and experienced technologist! In this lead technologist role the incumbent will provide leadership and guidance to our mammography technologists at our Imaging Center. This full-time career opportunity will have a 4-day 10- hour shift. The center provides a wide range of diagnostic imaging services to the community in a patient friendly and comfortable environment


Core Job Duties

  • Lead a team of Mammographers.
  • With guidance from the center supervisor/manager, direct activities of technical staff, assist in interviewing potential candidates for position, provide training and guidance to the technical team, and assist management with performance evaluations.
  • Perform Quality Assurance responsibilities, and assist management with site inspections and/or site accreditation.
  • Keep the site supervisor/manager aware of conditions and activities which positively and negatively impact back office operations.
  • Respond to questions, needs and concerns of patients and referring physicians.
  • Perform high quality digital and Tomosynthesis mammography exams on incoming patients.
  • Assist in the implementation and administering of procedures and best practices to streamline processes for center operations, and participate in and/or lead various projects to support center operations and quality patient care.
  • Participate in projects and/or meetings, and complete other tasks as assigned by management.

Assumes responsibilities for designated areas or procedures as required. Candidate must have open availability and reliable transportation.


Other Duties


  • Perform high quality mammography.
  • Monitor patient's wellbeing during exam; recognizes patient discomfort or medical problems and takes appropriate action.
  • Guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly taking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.
  • Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
  • AutomatedBreastUltrasound - ABUS (We Train)
  • Weekend availability
  • Attends meetings and/or training seminars as requested. Willing to work overtime when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Education -. Completion of ACR approved school for Radiologic Technology.
  • Work Experience - five years' experience of mammography or similar relevant experience.
  • Certifications and Licensures - Current CRT License, State certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist with Radiology and/or CT certification, current ARRT Certificate, CT, RT (X-ray), CPR certification, current BLS provider card, and Venipuncture Certificate.
  • Medical - Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and cross sectional anatomy



Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of blood borne pathogen requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Radiation Safety and Landauer film badges.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills, Problem solving skills, Basic computer skills


Physical Requirements and Exposures

  • Frequent standing, walking and sitting, occasional bending, stooping, kneeling and crouching.
  • Hand and finger mobility for use of reaching and manipulating keyboards and other imaging equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Clear hearing and speaking voice sufficient for face-to face and telephonic communications.
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, for near and far work, sufficient to operate office and medical equipment. Color vision is required.
  • Exposure to potential hazards such as radiation emitting equipment, extreme heat or cold, chemicals, bio-hazard waste and sharp instruments. Noise level: typical of an office and medical clinic environment.

Additional Information

  • Willing to work flexible schedule.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when requested and authorized.
  • Responsible for completion of continuing education credits sufficient to retain current licensure at own cost and on own time.





Compensation details: 55-58 Hourly Wage
