Job description

Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations and office assignments. Track task and project budgets. Observe complex earthwork and foundation construction project work. Monitor conformance to the plans and specifications. Prepare NCR reports. Address problems in the field with sound engineering knowledge and judgment. Identify and implement solutions to both routine and more complex field problems and document them accurately, keeping project managers informed of problems encountered during work assignments. Perform field tests and collect and record data. Prepare standard logs and field forms. Use firms field testing equipment as part of construction and earthwork monitoring, including using a nuclear gauge. Perform routine and complex geotechnical and foundation design and structural calculations. Requires at least a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, FE or EIT certification, and 2 years of geotechnical engineering experience. Must have experience with: field inspections of geotechnical and foundation projects; engineering analysis of common geotechnical engineering problems; assisting in preparation of geotechnical engineering reports and other project documents; and, accurately documenting any problems encountered on project sites and communicating them to the supervisor.lans, cost estimates, and designs for projects. Review the work product prepared by staff. Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments. Supervise or coordinate the work of staff engineers, interns and others who assist in specific assignments as needed. Coordinate and perform field inspection services, as needed. Collaborate with Project Personnel in coaching and training staff.
Base Annual Salary: $100,526. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. This position is also eligible to participate in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
