About the Employer:Our client, a highly regarded law firm specializing in estate planning, probate, and trust administration, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Estate Planning Paralegal to join their team. The firm prides itself on delivering personalized, professional legal services to its clients and is looking for a paralegal who can support their growing practice.
Job Description:The Estate Planning Paralegal will work closely with attorneys in the preparation and administration of estate planning documents, probate filings, and trust management. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with strong organizational skills and a passion for estate planning law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
- Assist in the administration of trusts and estates, including asset management and distribution
- Prepare and file probate documents, manage court filings, and track case status
- Conduct legal research related to estate and tax laws, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
- Maintain and organize client files, ensuring all relevant documentation is up-to-date and properly filed
- Coordinate communication with clients, financial institutions, and government agencies
- Assist attorneys in meetings with clients, providing support in explaining documents and processes
- Prepare estate and gift tax returns, and manage deadlines associated with tax filings
- Provide administrative support as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, with a focus on estate planning or probate
- Must posssess a Paralegal certificate or a degree in paralegal studies
- Bachelor's degree and a Paralegal certificat from American Bar Association (ABA) approved program - (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of estate planning principles, including wills, trusts, and probate
- Experience with legal document preparation and estate tax filings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estate planning software
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
