Overview:

Deliver and organize clean linen such as sheets and towels to assigned floors with carts and store it into the linen rooms properly. Ensure each linen closet rooms are stocked according to par level established.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/ standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Receive and sort dirty linen and trash as required.
  • Complete the Laundry Control Log for all linen sent and received from subcontractor.
  • Coordinate pick up of cleaned hotel linen from laundry service company.
  • Inspect condition, charges and amount of cleaned hotel linen received from service company; resolve any discrepancies.
  • Organize and stock all clean hotel linen in designated areas, shelves.
  • Remove substandard hotel linens from circulating inventory.
  • Report all shortages, damages, maintenance requests, problems and linen availability to manager.
  • Maintain close liaison with laundry service company to ensure the service provided meets the hotel's standards.
  • Monitor and maintain the clean and orderly condition of the linen room; ensure security of all hotel property.
  • Monitor and maintain designated supply levels.
  • Handle complaints by following the six step procedures, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Promote positive relations with guests and employees.
  • Turn over any lost and found items from guest rooms to Supervisor or designated person.
  • Complete inventory of hotel linens as assigned.
  • Assist Laundry in sorting and documenting dirty hotel linens.
Qualifications:
  • Fluency in job related English, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in processing charges).
  • Provide legible communication and directions.
  • Ability to:
    • Understand and anticipate guests' service needs.
    • Interact courteously and professionally with guests and staff members.
    • Be well organized, maintain concentration and think clearly.
    • Focus on details.
    • Take directions and follow through.
    • Perform job functions without constant direct supervision.
    • Work cohesively with other staff members as part of a team.
  • Desirable:
    • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
    • Experience in similar position.
    • Previous guest relations training.
  • Exert physical effort in transporting 50 pounds to 150 lb laundry carts
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Reach 6 feet.
  • Remain in stationary position for 5 hours throughout work shift.
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.

Compensation: $29.76/hr per L2 CBA
