Responsibilities
Director of Finance will be responsible for providing the following to our CFO clients:
- Liaise with the fund administrators for shadowing of the books, preparation of estimates, month-end NAV review, assistance with financial statement preparation, valuation of the portfolio, annual audit and tax work
- Liaise with the fund administrators and clients regarding investor relations requests, including leading operational due diligence meetings and ad-hoc requests
- Review all monthly items including the operating expense schedules, month-end close packages containing financial statements and supporting files, transparency reports, and investor statements
- Responsible for the review of year-end financial statements, including all statements and disclosures, and coordination of timely completion of audit
- Responsible for the review of year-end fund and client tax reporting, including investor tax statements and tax returns, and coordination of timely completion of tax work
- Oversee daily portfolio reconciliations and trade review on internal portfolio management system, liaising with prime brokers and custodians
- Play an active role in the onboarding of new single-strategy funds, including decision making and vendor review with clients
- Review of fund's capital calls and distributions, and fund expense payments and budgeting
- Responsible for management company oversight as it relates to finance, budgeting and vendor review
- Provide corporate accounting department with regular reporting of revenues, AUM and performance
- Liaise with other functional areas within the Firm as well as outside service providers
- Ad-hoc requests and special projects as necessary
- Assist compliance team with review of regulatory filings
Qualifications
Background:
- 10-15 years' experience in a corporate environment in the financial services industry
- A mix of hedge fund operations and accounting experience is preferred
- Hedge fund experience across a range of strategies highly regarded
- Experience working with a combination of investment, accounting, operations, technology, tax, compliance and legal teams.
Education/Technical:
- Undergraduate degree required, with focus in Accounting preferable
- Strong excel skills required
- Licensed CPA and EMS/OMS experience preferred.

- Ability to multi-task and manage several projects and processes at one time to meet deadlines
- Strong accounting and organizational background necessary

Compensation will be competitive, consisting of a base salary and bonus component, and will be commensurate with experience. Company is not looking to sponsor applicants for work visas.
