ASEG Inc. seeks a Systems Administrator The Systems Administrator shall demonstrate competence in all technical aspects of systems administration. The successful candidate performs productively in a fast-paced work environment, has great communication skills, works well independently and as part of a team, is passionate about their work and is eager to be part of a dynamic group of focused and creative individuals. The successful candidate will support a large-scale software engineering program. This role requires skills in Linux Systems Administration and DevSecOps. You will join a team supporting customers, designing, implementing, and managing lab infrastructure to meet the customer requirements. Build, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Linux servers and user workstation hardware and software; design and implement workgroup-scale networks; build and manage authentication, file-share, and other collaboration servers to support groups of heterogeneous client systems. You will work with cyber security staff to develop and apply hardening steps for systems for classified use to ICD-503 security controls, and other customer standards. The Successful Candidate will: Possess a certification in one or more of Linux+, RHCE, RHCSA, LPIC- 1: Linux Administrator, LPIC- 2: Linux Engineer or LPIC- 3: Enterprise Linux Professional Certification
Demonstrable hands-on, in-depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.
Be familiar with VMWare and virtualization concepts and/or Docker or Podman Containers
Be able to implement Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripts
Possess solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
Be familiar with virtual machine and cloud technologies including principles and methods of scalability to match workloads
Have demonstrated experience working on remote Systems via use of command line
Have hands on experience integrating Linux servers in Active Directory (or using LDAP/Kerberos)
Be experienced installing and configuring basic services including httpd/Apache, vftpd and sshd.
Have knowledge of the one or more of the following technologies: Ansible modules, PowerShell scripting, ELK Stack and Trellix Anti-Virus
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Minimum (5) years of progressive hands-on experience;
Excellent verbal communications skills; and
Ability to work under deadline pressure as part of a team or autonomously.
