Position Description Are you an Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV Junior Technician looking to make an impact every day? Serco is the place for you! Join our team supporting our Navy customer based out of San Diego, California. Serco's mission is to design, procure, integrate, install, and sustain the systems/equipment hardware, associated firmware, and software required to provide the ability to protect mission-critical assets and personnel from natural disasters, acts of terrorism and other human-caused disasters. The primary goal of the ESS/IDS/CCTV Sustainment Program is to provide both preventive and corrective maintenance services to Navy installations as required to sustain NAVFAC AT/FP Ashore Program Systems in accordance with their operational requirements. In this role, you will: Assist our the Project Lead/FSE installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining various Alarm, Access Control, CCTV Systems, intrusion detection, emergency operation centers and regional dispatch centers. Pull, identify and terminate various cables including, but not limited to, coaxial, CAT5 and CAT6 cable. Understand proper Copper Termination using RJ45 using T568A or T568B. Work independently without direct supervision and effectively communicate to management regarding the progress of service tickets. Demonstrate ability to safely use various types of man lifts and hand/power tools as well as being able to work from ladders. Be responsible for service in multiple areas or region based on location. Some travel over longer distances will be required as work warrants. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will have: A high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 1 to 2 years' experience in the field Valid driver's license An active DoD Secret clearance Ability to travel locally and long distance up to 50% of the time as needed Ability to follow industry standards in cable installation Ability to install conduit when needed Additional desired experience & skills: Experience with Cabling for all types of ESS related systems including but not limited to: Cable pulls both interior and exterior Conduit installation both interior and exterior Server Rack setup Cable Termination CAT5/6 General knolwedge of BICSI standards for cabling Apply today to discover your place in our world!
