Salary: The hiring salary for an Administrative Assistant I, is starting at $47,423 annually. The full pay range for an Administrative Assistant I is $40,532 to $64,852 annually.

About the Job:

The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is looking for an Administrative Assistant I, to provide excellent support and customer service as the front desk receptionist for our Administration Building. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and will handle calls regarding the San Diego International Airport. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, a positive attitude, and strong customer service skills.

What You'll Do:

Greet guests, employees, Board members, and members of the public when they visit the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority's (SDCRAA) Administration Building; provide customer service to visitors assisting with checking in, parking validation, directions, etc

Screens and manages telephone calls, providing information and addressing sensitive issues while prioritizing and routing incoming correspondence appropriately for general questions regarding San Diego International Airport (SAN). May also respond to online inquiries and questions regarding SAN, our tenants, and facilities.

Distributes and sorts all incoming mail for SDCRAA; properly meters and postage all outgoing mail; arranges for FedEx pick-ups and receives deliveries.

Helps to ensure a smooth flow for visitors and guests of SDCRAA employees; provides a positive experience for those calling in with inquiries regarding SAN and guests for SDCRAA; maintains a welcoming environment at the front desk reception for all visitors.

1. Customer & Personal Service: Aids and supports departmental staff and outside stakeholders on diverse and specialized clerical functions with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.

2. Relationship & Interpersonal Skills: Cultivates interpersonal rapport and trust, both up and down, by exhibiting consistency and reliability; demonstrated awareness of others' needs.

3. Communication: Proficiently exchange information through various avenues including verbal, digital, written, facilitation, and persuasion with both internal and external stakeholders.

4. Judgement & Decision Making: Ability to use appropriate judgement and confidentiality in selecting procedures, conducting transactions with other departments, vendors and the public and solving non-routine problems based on experience-based knowledge.

5. Time Management & Coordination: Ability to prioritize rapidly moving deadlines and various tasks to meet department needs and manage personal workflow.

6. Integrity: Exercises diplomacy and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive, complex, and confidential issues and situations.

7. Leveraging Technology: Effectively uses and generates information electronically integrates technology solutions and systems.

Requirements

The Experience You Need to Have:

Two years of increasingly responsible office administrative or secretarial experience.

Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent.

Equivalent combination of training and experience

Preferred Education, Certification, and Licenses:

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree.

Notary Public

Microsoft Office Specialist Certification (Associate/Expert/Master)
