Overview:
Built-in 1973 Dignity Health Methodist Hospital of Sacramento is committed to providing daily excellence in health care for residents of Sacramento's southern suburbs including the Elk Grove Wilton and Galt communities. Methodist Hospital is home to a 158 acute-care bed facility with 1120 employees 283 medical staff and 29 Emergency Department beds. Methodist Hospital also owns and operates Bruceville Terrace - a 171-bed sub-acute skilled nursing long-term care facility adjacent to the hospital that provides care for the elderly as well as those requiring extended recoveries. Methodist Hospital is home to the Family Medicine Residency Program an accredited and nationally recognized program which provides resident physicians with specialty training in primary care family medicine. Together the hospital and residency program implemented a ground-breaking curriculum addressing the identification treatment and assistance of human trafficking victims and created a one-of-a-kind health clinic for victims the Human Trafficking Medical Home.
Responsibilities:
Leads and sets strategy for mission integration within Methodist Hospital of Sacramento and Woodland Memorial Hospital to ensure the mission, vision, values and heritage are integrated into all aspects of the organization. Promotes a values-based organizational culture uniting people around the organization's mission, vision, values, and heritage. Designs and implements educational programming for staff, medical staff, volunteers, the community, and others about the Dignity Health mission, vision, values, and heritage.
Responsibilities 1 Job Details 1.1 Sets strategy and works with the leadership team to make operational the Dignity Health Mission Integration Standards. Develops and implements processes that affect the organization's operations, goals and strategic transformation. 1.2 Leads and sets strategy for integrating the mission, vision, values, and heritage within the organization. Develops and implements policies, procedures and programs to achieve operational goals. 1.3 Designs and implements educational programing for staff, medical staff, volunteers, the community and others about the Dignity Health mission, vision, values, and heritage. 1.4 Prepares regular accountability reports for the senior leadership team and hospital board regarding key areas of mission integration: organizational identity, spirituality and culture, ethical principles, and community health and the common good. 2 Core Competencies 2.1 Manages collaboratively and coaches others to achieve optimal performance; delegates effectively; praises/rewards contributions; defines clear roles and responsibilities; sets goals and leads initiatives; adjusts plans as necessary. 2.2 Keeping the organization's mission, vision and values at the forefront of associate decision making and action. 2.3 Ensuring that the patient/customer perspective is a driving force behind our actions and business decisions; crafting and implementing service practices that meet patients'/customers' and own organization's needs. (Focus also includes internal and external customers.) 2.4 Sharing authority and responsibility with others to move decision making and accountability downward through the organization enabling individuals to stretch their capabilities and accomplish the business unit's strategic priorities. 2.5 Demonstrates breadth and/or depth of professional/technical skills and capabilities required for position; shares knowledge; sets or contributes to the Company's direction within area of expertise. 2.6 Identifying opportunities and taking action to build strategic relationships between one's area and other areas, teams, department, units or organizations to help achieve business goals. Resolves issues and problems, and makes a significant contribution to team efforts. 2.7 Interacting with others in a way that gives them confidence in one's intentions and those of the organization. 2.8 Understanding of how to anticipate, recognize, and deal effectively with existing or potential conflicts at the individual, group, or situation level; ability to apply this understanding appropriately to diverse situations. 3 Functional Competencies 3.1 Knowledge of principles and practices associated with the rights and responsibilities of patients and caregivers; ability to apply these theories to identify, report, deal with and prevent patient rights violations. 3.2 Knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations governing proper medical conduct; ability to apply these theories to identify, report, deal with and prevent ethical conflicts, ensuring a harmonious and efficient healthcare environment. 3.3 Knowledge of the guiding principles of Dignity Health, including the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services and Statement of Common Values; ability to apply this understanding appropriately to healthcare related situations and to communicate such understanding effectively with Church and other leaders.
3.4 Knowledge of pastoral ethics governing proper clinical pastoral practices; ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of progressive responsibility in a related field (e.g., Spiritual Care, Healthcare, etc.).
Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.
Master's Degree in healthcare management, theology, spirituality, behavioral science or related fields.
Job Specifications:
Professional preparatory training (Masters level or equivalency) in theology, spirituality, ethics and community health within two (2) years of hire.
