Job Description and Duties The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) is seeking a Deputy Commissioner, Financial Services (CEA Level B) to join our leadership team! Will consider all DFPI office locations headquartered in Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego. Under the direction of the Senior Deputy Commissioner of Corporations and Financial Institutions (C&FI), the Deputy Commissioner plans, organizes, directs, and reviews the work of the Financial Services Office (FSO) of the DFPI and participates in overall policy development and management of the Department. The Deputy Commissioner manages the FSO primary functions of which are the licensing, examination, consumer complaints, and regulation of finance lenders and brokers, and lenders (originators) pursuant to the California Finance Lenders Law, California Deferred Deposit Transaction Law, and the Check Sellers, Bill Payers and Proraters Laws. The Department regulates a variety of financial services, products and professionals.
