Job description

Duties You will be required to perform cyber security risk assessments, physical security assessments, user awareness training, system auditing and compliance requirements. You will perform responsibilities related to cybersecurity compliance, technical support and customer service. You will perform IT review of new equipment prior to procurement and throughout the acquisition process. You will coordinate with users to clarify requirements, obtain missing data, explain processing delays, discuss priority adjustment options, discuss alternative process methods and anticipated time of process completion. Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area S010 intermediate level within 12 months of appointment. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications DS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09/10 grade level or DS-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate all of the following:1) Expertise with IT systems, plans, functions, as well as security operations; 2) Highly proficient in a variety of computer platforms, networks, and software applications; 3) Performing responsibilities related to cybersecurity compliance, technical support and customer service: and 4) Extensive knowledge of Risk Management Framework and authorization of documentation. DS-03: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05/08 grade level or DS-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate all of the following: 1) Understanding of IT systems, plans, functions and an understanding of Risk Management Framework; 2) Knowledgeable in a variety of computer platforms, networks, and software applications; 3) Performing responsibilities related to cybersecurity compliance, technical support and customer service: and 4) Clarifying requirements, obtaining missing data, explaining processing delays, discussing priority adjustment options, discussing alternative process methods and anticipating time of process completion. Education DS-04: Applicants can also qualify for the position if they successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; OR have successfully completed 3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. DS-03: Applicants can also qualify for the position if they successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks; OR have successfully completed 2 full years (36 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
