Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking an experienced Senior Import-Export Analyst for a direct hire opportunity with a great company near Pasadena, CA. This critical role will oversee all aspects of our international shipping operations, ensuring compliance with global trade regulations, optimizing logistics, and streamlining import/export processes to drive efficiency and cost savings. - Ensure all import and export activities comply with U.S. and international laws, regulations, and customs requirements.
- Prepare and review import/export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and other relevant documents.
- Act as the point of contact for Customs, FDA, USDA, and other regulatory agencies to address any issues or discrepancies.
- Coordinate logistics with freight forwarders, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to facilitate smooth transportation of goods.
- Track shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any delays or issues that arise.
- Manage and resolve discrepancies in shipping, receiving, and billing.
- Analyze import/export data, shipping costs, and trade patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare detailed reports on import/export activities, compliance audits, and cost analysis to support business decisions.
- Work closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors to manage international shipments, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with internal departments, such as finance, legal, and supply chain, to ensure smooth coordination of international transactions.
- Develop and implement process improvements in the import/export function to reduce costs, improve accuracy, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Stay updated on changes in import/export regulations and incorporate best practices to maintain compliance.
- Bachelor's degree in international business , Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Licensed U.S. Customs Broker
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, or trade compliance, with a proven track record of handling international trade regulations.
- Strong knowledge of import/export compliance, customs procedures, and international shipping documentation.
- Experience with U.S. Export regulations and laws (ITAR, EAR, and OFAC) and experience with export/import classifications and denied party screening requirements.
- Proficiency in trade management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS).
- Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on cost efficiency and compliance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Export Specialist (CES), or similar credentials.
- Advanced technical degree (MS/PhD or equivalent in Science and Engineering)
- Excellent computer skills; prior with eCustoms , Excel, Microsoft word, AES, SNAP-R and DECCS.
