Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This role will be supporting our Advanced Manufacturing Technology Organization. This position will be located on site in Palmdale, CA. Please Note: This position is on-site in Palmdale, CA and cannot be performed remotely due to the nature of the role. This position will require 10% domestic travel and the qualified applicant must be able to obtain and maintain Program Special Access over multiple platforms. As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology organization, you will define, develop, implement, and transition new technology solutions to manufacturing to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality. Provide and develop manufacturing concepts and process solutions for production applications in advanced technologies specializing in coatings & specialty processes. The role requires incorporation of requirements into development plans and evaluation of performance of tools and processes, initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure research and development contractual obligations (technical, schedule, and cost) are met and product quality is maintained, project maturation (TRL/MRL), and ensure processes and procedures follow specifications and regulations. As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology team, you will be involved with all aspects of the Manufacturing Technology Development cycle. Job responsibilities 1) Identify customer needs, define requirements, technical planning and documentation (generate statements of work, requirements documents and test plans) 2) Identify and develop innovative solutions leveraging technology to meet customer needs 3) Manage project cost (spending, charging, implementation, savings and return on investment) and schedule (develop project deliverables and detail plans including but limited to IMS project schedules, status and visibility, roadmaps, spend plans) 4) Manufacturing system development/integration, verification and validation, and implementation, identify and mitigate program risk and capture opportunity impacts 5) Follow projects through all manufacturing readiness level phases: concept development, design, fabrication/assembly/test at lab level, production environment demo, full production operations implementation (TTP Transition to Production), sustainment/maintenance/ continuous improvement. We are looking for self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented people to help us grow our services and become even better at what we do Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field and 1 year of related engineering experience. Experience in coatings or specialty processes Ability to travel 10% of the time Active DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance The ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs Preferred Qualifications: Solid modeling design skills (e.g., NX Siemens, CATIA, Solid Works) Experience with using Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS-Project, Visio) Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem solving capabilities Manage multiple projects concurrently in meeting customer requirements/expectations Experience in the development, capture, and execution of R&D technology capabilities. Assessing maturity of new technology for transition to production • Experience with authoring proposals, technical documents, and procedures Knowledgeable in composites, metallics, coatings materials, automation, and process experience. Strong Project / Program Management skills (proposal creation, scheduling, budget tracking) Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Self-starter who is able to work with minimal direction

Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
