JOB OVERVIEW: The Welder, Combination Maintenance (WCM) welds metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, and plant equipment, according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. This worker welds metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes, performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes, and increases the size of metal parts, positions, and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding. • Will require assisting other range support personnel in the conduct of general maintenance and repairs to support training ranges in an operationally ready and safe condition, assisting in the fabrication of structures, and the installation of hollow core, solid core, residential steel, industrial steel, and various locking systems.
• Ability to weld metal components together to fabricate or repair products, such as machine parts, plant equipment, according to lay- outs, blueprints or work orders, using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
• Skill in both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes, performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases size of metal parts, positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
• General maintenance and repairs to support training ranges in an operationally ready and safe conditions, assisting in the fabrication of facades and target structures, and the installation of hollow core, solid core, residential steel, industrial steel and various locking systems for use as targets on training ranges. QUALIFICATIONS: • Must have a current state and Government Driver's License
• Able to work outside in all weathers.
• Able to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances.
• Able to write and speak clearly in English.
• Must be able to travel occasionally.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Secret clearance.
• Basic computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration. • Clearance Level: Secret (Must have an active DoD security clearance or be able to obtain one)
