Responsibilities:
The Director of Patient Access plays a key role within the organization.
The Director provides leadership, direction, and administration in all aspects of the Admitting department.
This includes all registration functions within all areas of the hospital:Information Desk
Financial counseling
Cashier processes
Hospital mail processes
PBX area.
The Ideal Candidate will have excellent customer service skills and 3-7 consecutive years in a patient accounting/access leadership position within an acute care hospital.
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Management or Accounting and three years of experience in a patient access leadership position in an acute care hospital required; or seven years patient access leadership experience in an acute care facility required.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Customer Services experience required
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to demonstrate understanding of and ability to interpret third party payer principles and terms and COBRA laws.
Strong organizational skills required for effective communication with patients, physicians, public, staff and administrations.
Must be able to work in fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $66,560 .00 to $104,000 .00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
