Job description

Overview:
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for assisting the Director of Finance in daily record keeping and managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel and finance department. The Accounting Clerk will provide excellent customer service to departments and associates alike.

Responsibilities:
Accurately reviewing daily transactions from hotel staff and posting to general ledger

Implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by company policy and procedures, generally accepted accounting practices, and as effected by local conditions

Assist in managing revenues received and dispersed including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll, audit, General Ledger reporting, and cash handling functions

Assists with the distribution of forecast information as an up-to-date management tool for operating departments

Assists with posting journal entries during month end and any ad hoc requests from Director of Finance

Preparation of some balance sheet reconciliations monthly

Code and submit miscellaneous invoices for payment

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
High school graduate

College degree, Accounting major preferred

Three years accounting experience

Experience with computers, calculators or word processors

Skills:

Strong attention to detail

Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Able to work in a fast paced environment

Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling up to 10lbs, occasionally lifting 25lbs. Bending and moving intermittently. Use fingers to grasp, move or type. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an indoor working environment and the noise level in the workplace is usually low.

Typical equipment used includes but is not limited to computers, POS systems, handheld devices, phones and household cleaning supplies.

Wage: $25.00/hr
