RN - Educator (NICU)

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Trusted Staffe is seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Educator to join our partner Medical facility in Los Angeles, CA, specializing in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate nurse leader to contribute their expertise to a critical care environment and shape the future of neonatal nursing practice through education and mentorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Educational Programs: Design, create, and deliver evidence-based educational programs and materials for NICU nursing staff, ensuring they remain up-to-date on best practices and advancements in neonatal care.
  • Needs Assessment and Competency Development: Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify areas for improvement in staff knowledge and skills. Collaborate with nursing leadership to develop and implement competency programs that address the specific needs of the NICU population.
  • Staff Education and Mentorship: Provide ongoing education, training, and mentorship to NICU nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Performance Improvement: Actively participate in Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives, utilizing data and evidence to drive positive change and enhance patient outcomes within the NICU.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Engage in committee participation with the medical staff, facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration and communication. Provide expert consultation to staff nurses on clinical, administrative, and educational matters.
  • Evidence-Based Practice: Promote the integration of evidence-based practices and research findings into nursing care, ensuring the delivery of the highest quality care in the NICU.
  • Clinical Inquiry: Conduct clinical inquiries to identify areas for improvement and advocate for necessary changes in practice, enhancing patient safety and outcomes.
  • Role Modeling and Leadership: Utilize advanced clinical knowledge and communication skills to serve as a role model and leader, providing guidance and support to nurses and healthcare providers to elevate the standard of care in the NICU.

Qualifications:

  • Education: MSN (Master's of Science in Nursing)
  • Licensure: Active California RN License
  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, CNS
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of clinical experience in the NICU
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in nursing education or a related field

Additional Information:

  • Shift: Day/Night rotation (specific schedule may vary)
  • Weekends: No weekends required
  • RTO: No Requested Time Off (RTO) allowed within the first two weeks of orientation
  • Patient Assignment: This role will not involve taking on direct patient assignments.
