Job description

The role available with my client is a Maintenance Technician They are looking for a candidate who will successfully contribute to the team in a successful manner with a strong background in the food industry, ideally bakery.

My client is a company that focuses on food manufacturing. They focus specifically on the bakery side and ensure that all products are made from the best ingredients.

Description

• Perform scheduled maintenance on production equipment such as ovens, mixers, conveyors, refrigeration units, and packaging machinery to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with bakery equipment and conduct necessary repairs in a timely manner.
• Assist with the installation, setup, and calibration of new bakery machinery and equipment.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure equipment is running efficiently, providing support during breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with food safety and OSHA regulations, including the proper use of lockout/tagout procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts usage, and equipment status updates.
• Assist with inventory management of spare parts, ensuring the availability of critical components when needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Perform basic facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing, HVAC, and lighting repairs as needed.

Profile

• High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in a maintenance role within the food manufacturing industry, preferably at a bakery or similar facility.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, PLC troubleshooting, and bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, conveyors).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varying temperatures, and stand for extended periods.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with production and maintenance teams.
• Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends, if needed.
