The Role:
As our Bookkeeper, you'll be a vital part of our team, playing a key role in managing our financial operations and supporting our firm's growth and success. From handling bank reconciliations to preparing financial reports, your attention to detail and financial expertise will help us stay ahead of the game.
Responsibilities:
Handling bank reconciliations for both operating and client trust accounts.
Keep our case settlements organized and detailed, ensuring accuracy in attorney fees, costs, and client allocations.
Handle payments and audits for our case expense line of credit with accuracy.
Managing our working capital line of credit, ensuring smooth operations.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
Ensure compliance with financial regulations while processing transactions accurately.
Dive into daily banking activities with efficiency.
Transfer Attorneys Fees and Costs from Trust Account to Operating Account under dual control systems
Generate insightful financial reports to track our progress and inform decision-making.
Maintain the integrity of our general ledger and trust balance.
Timely invoice payments and payroll processing, ensuring smooth operations.
Ensure case breakdowns are accurate and work with the lien negotiator on timely payment with confidence and expertise.
Manage personal accounts payable for managing attorney
Issue client settlement checks and medical provider checks
Requirements
Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably within the legal industry/personal injury field.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
Exceptional attention to detail analysis and organizational abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Experience with bank reconciliations and financial reporting preferred.
Associates Degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Knowledge of QuickBooks and legal practices is a plus.
Knowledge of case management software CASEPEER, a plus
