Job description

My client is looking for an Director of Project Management. The Director of Project Management will help deliver innovative ideas that will push the company forward in their mission to providing healthy and nutritious food. This role will oversee the Project Management team and will work closely with the marketing and innovation divisions.

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and align project management strategies with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Lead the development of project portfolios that encompass new product launches, process improvements, facility expansions, and other key initiatives.

Project Oversight:

  • Provide leadership and direction to project managers, ensuring projects are well-defined, resourced appropriately, and executed effectively.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying potential roadblocks and implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct regular project status reviews and communicate updates to stakeholders, including senior management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Foster collaboration across departments, including R&D, Operations, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Serve as a liaison between different teams, facilitating communication and resolving conflicts to maintain project alignment.

Resource Management:

  • Allocate resources efficiently to ensure successful project execution while balancing competing priorities.
  • Optimize resource allocation and utilization to maximize productivity and meet project deadlines.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
  • Implement proactive risk assessment methodologies and manage the resolution of issues that arise during project execution.

Budget Oversight:

  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
  • Work closely with finance teams to provide accurate project cost forecasts and variance analysis.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing best practices, lessons learned, and process enhancements in project management methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain project management templates, tools, and methodologies that support efficient project execution.

Performance Metrics:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and overall team performance.
  • Regularly assess project performance against established KPIs and take actions to address any deviations.

Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or science-related field required
  • Proven experience of at least 10 years in project management, within a food manufacturing or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and manufacturing processes is advantageous
