As a Project Controls Specialist II (Cost Analyst), you will play a crucial role in monitoring and maintaining the integrity of project budgets and forecasts. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed cost variance analysis, reviewing financial reports, evaluating contract change orders, and ensuring compliance with financial procedures and policies.

What You'll Do:

Monitor project budgets and forecasts according to established procedures

Provide quality assurance on financial tracking and cost performance

Analyze cost variances to identify trends and mitigate budget impacts

Review monthly cost reports and progress reports

Evaluate contract change orders and amendments

Interact with technical leads to address budget-related issues

Implement BuildLACCD policies and procedures for cost management

Present data to management in an organized manner

Respond to requests for financial information from College staff

Travel to project locations as needed

Requirements

What You'll Need:

3-5 years of professional experience in program and/or project controls in construction

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field

Experience working through the entire project life cycle

Knowledge of cost/schedule management, earned value management, change management, forecasting, and risk assessment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Experience with Proliance, Data-Warehouse, or similar systems preferred

Exceptional communication and organizational skills

Ability to adapt to changing requirements and work in a fast-paced environment

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
