Department Summary:
The UCLA Department of Physics and Astronomy offers a rewarding environment to pursue higher education and topical research. Members of the department carry out active research programs that garner widespread international recognition. Doctoral students can participate in a variety of research projects. The Department supports education at levels ranging from introductory freshman seminars to advanced graduate courses. The incumbent is to collaborate efficiently with all levels of staff and academic researchers and faculty.
Position Summary:
The Department of Physics & Astronomy is in search of a Business Manager to support the Jason Petta research group in a variety of administrative areas. This is a full-time carer position eligible for full benefits. The incumbent will collaborate with faculty, staff and students as well as other business partners across UCLA. Salary & Compensation:

Qualifications:
Team support in working with large teams, effectively dealing with a range of challenges and personalities, while maintaining a high degree of professionalism. (Required)
Thorough knowledge of University rules, regulations, policies and procedures for budget, accounting, fund management and personnel management. (Preferred)
Highly skilled in synthesizing and conveying complex information through written and verbal communication. (Required)
Skilled in developing complex budgets, forecasting financial projections and conducting comprehensive analyses of revenue and expenditures including but not limited to appropriations and endowments. (Required)
Demonstrated autonomy in project and task management. (Required)
Demonstrated skill in setting priorities which reflect varying levels of importance of multiple work assignments and the ability to handle competing deadlines and multiple responsibilities. (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications, & Professional Affiliations:
Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, management, physical sciences, or engineering is preferred; and/or equivalent experience. (Required)
