Job description

What we are looking for:
SCS Engineers is seeking an energetic, forward-thinking environmental services professional to join our Long Beach, CA office. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, embraces teamwork, is eager to learn, and has the desire to grow and develop professionally. Must be detail-oriented and a team player with great communication, strong technical writing, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

How you can make an impact:
A mixture of office and field work expected

Experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II Investigations in accordance with ASTM Standards

Multi-media sampling (soil, soil vapor, groundwater, indoor air, methane, surface water, sediment, etc.)

Experience and certification to collected samples and abatement oversight of asbestos containing materials and/or lead-based paint

Supervise contractors during field activities for regulatory and safety compliance

Lithological logging and boring log preparation

Report writing and preparation of supporting documentation

Long field days and work at job sites throughout Southern California can be expected with this position

Proposal preparation

Potential to manage small to mid-scale projects and provide support on larger projects

Communicating project status, schedules and compliance issues with clients, third parties, and regulatory agents

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field required

Minimum of 3-5 years of related environmental experience

Must be well versed in water quality, environmental regulations and environmental assessment/remediation.

Microsoft Office and computer programs (AutoCAD, Surfer, and/or ArcGIS preferred), field equipment experience preferred

HAZWOPER training completed and up to date

Asbestos coursework up to date and Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) certification preferred.

Progress towards professional certification (PE/PG) preferred

Good communication and writing skills required

Valid driver's license with driving record in good standing required

Pay Range:
USD $75,000.00 - USD $85,000.00 /Yr.
