Tutor Me Education, a leading provider of educational services for primary and secondary students, is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Special Education Tutors to join our dynamic team. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about creating safe, nurturing environments where students can thrive and achieve their academic goals.

Position Overview

As a Special Education Tutor, you will work one-on-one with students with special needs, helping them succeed academically. Your role will involve assisting students with daily activities, providing moral support, and delivering personalized instruction in their homes. We are hiring in over 100 neighborhoods across Los Angeles-choose one that's convenient for you!

Key Details:

Location: In-home or preferred location of students

Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday afternoons

Compensation: $25-$35 per hour

Hours: Approximately 10-20 hours per month

Responsibilities:

Conduct individualized tutoring sessions tailored to the needs of students with special education requirements.

Develop customized lesson plans and teaching strategies aligned with each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Adapt instructional methods, materials, and assessments to fit the unique learning styles of each student.

Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to instructional techniques as necessary.

Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and special education teams to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience.

Maintain open and regular communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.

Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes the emotional and behavioral development of students.

Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in special education and integrate them into your teaching.

Requirements

Job requirements:

Able to commute to/from La Mirada, CA

Previous experience with special education, accommodations, and working with students with learning disabilities HIGHLY PREFERRED

At least a Bachelor's degree

Ability to make learning fun and interactive, with the focus of the tutoring often determined by student questions and comments

Ability to pass a background check if required
